ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday suspended four more officials of land directorate for their alleged involvement in illegal allotment of 59 plots in D-13.

The director land Fareedud Din has already been suspended in the alleged mega scam.

Sources said the four officials included deputy director land Taimour Ahmed, assistant director Asghar Ali, admin officer Malik Sajid and sub-assistant Mohammad Latif.

Their suspension orders said: “They have been placed under suspension with immediate effect and until further orders for misconduct, corruption i.e ignoring the orders of higher authority, SOP regarding allotment of plots through transparent ballot.”

A few days ago, the land directorate had allotted 59 plots in D-13 to affected people while ignoring written orders of member estate Khushal Khan, who had directed his subordinates to allot plots following SOP, which also calls for allotment through balloting.

However, the said officials allotted 59 plots without balloting.

The other day, when scam was surfaced, the allotments were cancelled.

Meanwhile, CDA has initiated a proper inquiry into the scam and issued a charge sheet to suspended director land.

Sources said there were reports that this year, a large number of plots were allotted to selected people by changing their plots, accommodating them in costly sectors.
