QUETTA: The Levies force on Sunday seized 240 cans of a chemical which is used for making drugs and explosives and arrested three suspects who were trying to smuggle them to Afghanistan.
Chagai Deputy Commissioner Fateh Khan Khajjak told a press conference that acting on a tip-off, Levies officials pursued three Iranian vehicles in the Gat Brot area of Dalbandin, in Chagai district.
The deputy commissioner said the officials intercepted the vehicles and during search found 240 cans (800 litres) of the chemical.
Chagai ADC Badal Dashti was also present in the press conference.
Mr Khajjak said according to an estimate, the chemical would have fetched several million dollars in the international market.
He said the Levies force was working hard to stop smuggling.
The deputy commissioner said the Levies force was being equipped with modern weapons in order to improve its performance.
