Transparency International Pakistan in collaboration with Social Welfare Society (SWS) organized a training workshop on Punjab Transparency and Right to Information Act 2013 in Pir Mehal, Toba Tek Singh. The workshop was attended by 23 participants including 8 women. The participants were university students, educationalist, journalist, and ex-members local government. Project Coordinator, Ashfaque Ahmed, conducted the workshop in which he discussed various aspects of laws including its rationale, history of Right to Information legislations in Pakistan, role of 18th Amendment, application process, complaints process, proactive disclosure and the role of Public Information Officer and Information Commissioner. The participants also asked questions and wrote sample applications in the end. The event was also covered in local newspapers.
