Corruption Case Against Five IUB Officials


BAHAWALPUR: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Thursday registered a corruption case against five officials of the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) for awarding a contract for construction of boundary wall of the Baghdadul Jadid campus in violation of the rules, causing over Rs40m loss to the university.

According to ACE officials, the boundary wall was constructed some years back.

In the first information report, registered by ACE, a contractor of Faisalabad who had completed the boundary wall had also been booked. No arrest has been made yet.

SUGAR: The sugarcane development cess fund committee, in its meeting held here under the chairmanship of Commissioner Nayyar Iqbal, approved four schemes costing of Rs82m for construction of roads in the sugarcane areas of district Rahim Yar Khan.
