Factory Owner Sent To Jail Over Substandard Chilli Sauce

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday sentenced a factory owner to seven-month jail for manufacturing substandard chilli sauce.

The Punjab Food Authority had arrested Fayaz Ahmad and sealed his factory after recovering substandard and hazardous chilli sauce.

The magistrate, Azmatullah Awan, also imposed a fine of Rs600,000 on Ahmad in addition to the jail term. The magistrate observed that those involved in adulteration were playing with the lives of citizens and did not deserve any concession.
