ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday sealed several buildings in Multi Professional Cooperative Housing Society (MPCHS) B-17 for violations of ICT Building and Zoning Regulations 2005.
The operation was participated by the staff of Building Control Section –II, Enforcement Directorate, Islamabad Capital Administration and Islamabad Police.
“During the action taken on Tuesday, 19 illegal and un-authorised commercial premises in MPCHS B-17,” says a press release issued by CDA.
It said that action against illegal construction and other violations will continue aimed at ensuring implementation of ICT Building and Zoning Regulations 2005.
Contrary to its rules, the civic authority has never made any serious attempt to implement its bylaws in private housing schemes, which resulted into utilisation of green areas and other amenity plots for commercial purposes. The amenity plots were originally meant for schools, college, mosques and parks
Currently, there are around 120 housing schemes but a few have no-objection certificates issued by the civic agency.
