KP NAB approves inquiries against officers of various departments

The Regional Board Meeting (RBM) of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held here with Director General (DG) NAB Farmanullah Khan in the chair, here on Friday. The meeting was attended by directors, deputy prosecutor general, case officers, and other concerned investigation officers. Several important decisions were taken in the Regional Board Meeting.

The board authorized an inquiry against officers/officials of KP Administration department regarding corruption and corrupt practice. The subjects are alleged to have embezzled millions of rupees funds at Chief Minister Block at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, Islamabad.

The board authorized two separate inquiries against officers/officials of Pak-PWD and PESCO regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have illegally awarded contracts to blue eyed contractors at NA-18 worth billion of rupees through Pak-PWD without competition and fulfilling the codal formalities.

The board also authorized inquiry against Haji Alif Khan (Private Person) and TMA Peshawar regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have illegally established Fruit Market at Kala Kalay GT Road Peshawar also non deposit of any collection made from gate fee etc.

The Regional Board authorized another inquiry against Tourism Department (KP) regarding corruption & misuse of authority. The subjects are alleged to have embezzled hundreds of million rupees funds under the project “Kalam Area Integrated Development Project”.

The board authorized an inquiry into embezzlement of developmental funds and cutting of timber at District Chitral. It is alleged that provincial and federal governemts were issued millions of rupees funds to district Chitral during the years 2013-17 were embezzled. It is also alleged forests of district Chitral have been destroyed under the garb of Chitral Indus Policy.

The Regional Board authorized inquiry against MTIs DI Khan regarding corruption and misuse of authority. The subjects are alleged to have embezzled millions of rupees fund in purchase of medicines also made illegally appointments of Hospital Directors etc.

The board authorized inquiry against Noor Nawaz resident of Kohat (Private Person) regarding corruption & corrupt practices. The accused person running a business of Prize Bonds, he swindled millions of rupees from 48 general public.

Meanwhile, DG NAB (KP), Farmanullah Khan has said that as per directives of Chairman NAB, former Justice Javed Iqbal, the KP chapter of the national anti-graft agency is determined to do across the board accountability on the basis of solid evidence as per law. He further said that eradication of corruption is not only our social and moral obligation but it also ensures prosperous future of our coming generations.
