Man held for fraud, impersonation

MANSEHRA: The Mansehra police have arrested a man for impersonating an officer of the security agencies and National Accountability Bureau and depriving people of money in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh provinces.

“The fraudster and impersonator, Sajjad Hussain Shah, is wanted by the police of Peshawar, Attock, Rawalpindi and other parts of the country for fraud worth millions of rupees,” district police officer Zaibullah Khan Yousufzai told a news conference here on Monday. The DPO also said an Afghan national was held on the charge of killing another citizen of his country, while Khurram Pervez and Mohammad Aqil were arrested for depriving trader Yasir Zaman of Rs700,000 at gunpoint last week.

ACCIDENT: A man was killed and 10 others including two children suffered critical injuries when a passenger wagon plunged into a deep ravine near Oghi area here on Monday. The accident occurred as the driver lost control of the wagon bound for Oghi from Battagram while negotiating a sharp turn.

PROJECTS OKAYED: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has sanctioned funds for various development projects for Balakot tehsil.

“Whatever schemes the chief minister had announced for NA-30, Mansehra, during a public meeting last month have been got money for use,” former provincial minister Ahmad Hussain Shah told reporters in Balakot on Monday.

Mr Shah, who joined the PTI last month and was likely to be the PTI candidate in PK-30 election, said that the chief minister had approved money for the development of Garhi Habibullah area.

“The 18km road will be become an alternative route besides Bisian-Balakot Road for the people traveling between Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Balakot,” he said.
