NAB approves reference against ex-Sindh minister


ISLAMABAD: The Natio¬nal Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday approved a reference against Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, a former Sindh minister, on charges of misuse of authority and making illegal appointments.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the bureau’s executive board.
According to NAB, the former provincial minister for industries and commerce made 372 illegal appointments and caused a loss of Rs420 million to the exchequer.
The meeting approved 12 inquiries against Saeed Ahmed, a former president of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), officials of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), Wapda, Port Qasim Authority, Sahiwal Coal Power company, officials of Lahore and Karachi police, Sindh Health Department, University of Swabi, Civil Aviation Authority and Bacha Khan Airport, Peshawar, on charges of corruption
