The arrested accused was identified as Allah Ditta Hira, a director of Sahir Associates. An investigation officer of NAB told The Express Tribune that the accused was involved in extracting money from people on a promise of selling plots and houses on lower rates. He had inaugurated the housing society in 2005 and since then making false promises of handing plot them over the plots.
Over 200 victims had submitted claims of Rs250 million to NAB. NAB had warned the accused many a time for redressal of the grievances but he ignored.
The officer said NAB arrested him as they feared the accused may flee abroad. He was presented before an accountability court that handed him to NAB on physical remand for 14 days.
