NAB Arrests Ex-MD Of Punjmin


LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday arrested Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (Punjmin) former managing director Manzar Hayat in Chiniot mines case.

According to NAB Lahore office, Mr Hayat is accused of awarding illegal contract worth billions of rupees to a company in the 69th meeting of the Punjmin.

It said the suspect had forwarded the summary of the contract to then secretary of mines and minerals department, Imtiaz Alam, who is also a suspect in this case, and got it approval from him.

Mr Hayat will be presented before an accountability court on Tuesday for physical remand.

The bureau said so far seven suspects, including former planning and development chairman Suleman Ghani, had been arrested in this case.
