NAB encumbering corruption in national development projects

QUETTA: Chairman NAB, Justice (R) Javed Iqbal on Monday said, NAB was playing its full role in foiling corrupt elements and taking concrete measures for preventing corruption in all national development projects including China Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC).
Chairman NAB expressed these views while visiting NAB Balochistan and reviewed the performance of NAB office.
He said that Balochistan’s development would ensure development of the whole country.
He said that CPEC is not only essential for Pakistan’s economic uplift and prosperity, but is also a game changer for the development of this whole region.
He said that NAB does not look the face of the suspect but see the case and allegations filed against him.
He said that the Pit Feeder canal has been linked to the economic future of the Balochistan’s agricultural belt.
He said NAB would take strict action against all corrupt elements involved in the pit feeder canal case and recover all money which belong to the people of Balochistan only.
Chairman said that the NAB is performing its duties according to the law for the complete end of corruption.
He said that the main purpose of NAB is not only to punish corrupt elements but is also to recover the bagged money and return it to national exchequer, so that ongoing development projects could be completed on time.
Chairman NAB issued instructions for deciding all the mega corruption and other cases on fixed time.
He said that accountability bureau has made tremendous efforts and recovered billions of rupees from corrupt elements involved in Balochistan finance case and has returned all this looted money to Balochistan government.
He said NAB has nothing to with elections, it is just performing its duty by taking action against those who have robbed national treasure.
He said that, so far, NAB has collected 296 billion rupees from the fraudulent and corrupt elements, which is a record success.
Chairman NAB reiterated the policy of Zero Tolerance against Corruption, saying that the National Accountability Bureau would continue following the policy of “accountability for all”.
He further added that NAB would continue its mission, as the first and last commitment of NAB is to protect Pakistan and its interests.
He appreciated the performance of NAB Balochistan in the supervision of DG NAB Balochistan and directed to further improve it.
