NAB launches campaign against Illegal tax collection

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the light of vision of Chairman NAB, Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal to provide relief to the general public through Accountability Regime, has launched a campaign against illegal tax collection.

As per details, illegal toll tax was being collected by some individuals posing as Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) appointed tax collectors, in gross violation of laws and causing public nuisance. The tax collection was reported to DC Peshawar by PDA. However, no action was taken.

NAB took cognizance of the matter and after thorough probe; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has been asked to take strict action against such illegal tax collection.

The general public was also advised not to pay any toll tax at the check posts illegally established. General public was further advised to report to the concerned authorities if they were deprived of their right to passage without paying tax.
