First ‘Youth in Governance’

Workshop on 19^th and 20^th July, 2005 at Arts Auditorium,
University of Karachi

Youth in Governance.

To equip youth with tools and skills to realize their rights and responsibilities, practice good governance and become active members of society” is the objective of this programme. 

Designed in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC) is its major sponsor. A variety of activities like workshops, formation of youth clubs and forums are designed under YinG programme. 

This is the first workshop of our Anti-Corruption Awareness programme. Around 200 students from 25 Universities of Sindh and Baluchistan are the participants of this workshop. In addition, there will be other workshops for Universities of NWFP, Punjab, Kashmir and Islamabad in upcoming months. 

The First YinG Workshop is scheduled from July 19 to July 20, 2005 at Arts Auditorium, University of Karachi. This is the first Capacity Building Workshop (CPW) of the YinG programme. The session would help YinGsters to develop the necessary attitude to confront corruption and to make efforts to eradicate this menance.  

Around 200 YinGsters from different Universities of Sindh and Baluchistan would be the participants in this first workshop. It would be an exciting two day interactive gathering embarked by renowned personalities who would be tutoring YinGsters on the following issues: 

• What is corruption?
• What is Transparency?
• What is Accountability?
• Value of Vote
• National Integrity
• Legislation
• Good Governance
• Human Rights
• Mobilising the community
• Forming effective alliances against corruption
