The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly would review the letter of registrar Supreme Court today (Thursday) about not presenting the accounts of the apex court in the NA committee. NadeemAfzal Chan, Chairman PAC, while talking to The News said on Wednesday that in the past, the SC expenditure had been brought under discussion. He refuted the claim adopted by the registrar of the apex court and said that the registrar being principal accounting officer with executive power was summoned by the PAC. He said it was wrong to consider it as a court summons and registrar did not mean the Supreme Court. He said that the conduct of any judge would not be discussed in the PAC, and instead it wanted to know that the SC had been given the budget of Rs1.4 billion approved by the parliament and the details of the expenditure should be provided to the PAC. He said that it was a constitutional demand. The PAC chairman said that the registrar’s point of view was not correct as the registrars had been appearing in the PAC and the SC expenditure had been discussed.
