CHITRAL: Residents among them women and children of Sheshi Koh valley on Friday took to the streets against corruption in disbursement of forest royalty funds. The protesters started off from the PIA Chowk and gathered at the press club. Later, addressing a press conference, the residents of Bella village of Sheshi Koh valley demanded of the government to take stern action against the influential persons for committing massive corruption in the forest royalty funds. They alleged that one Inzar Gul had deprived them of millions of rupees by taking benefit of the backwardness and illiteracy of the people. The villagers said Inzar Gul was an influential person who used his clout to implicate in false cases anyone who opposed him. But, they said now the entire valley had revolted against him. They said Inzar Gul had been receiving the royalty funds through the joint forest management committee which was also a fake body. They said dwellers of the village even did not know that their names were being used in drawing the royalty funds.
