KASUR: The district administration retrieved state land worth millions from illegal occupants on Wednesday, however, it did not take any legal action against the occupants.
According to a press release issued from the office of the deputy commissioner, the district administration retrieved two acres from the occupants near village Khara. Deputy Director of the Local Government Malik Tariq headed a team of local government, district council, revenue department and police officials and demolished the boundry walls and cattle pen erected by the occupant. Mr Tariq could not be reached for comment.
POLICE: The district police officer (DPO) suspended two station house officers (SHOs) and an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and transferred the entire force of Phoolngar City and Sadar police stations for their failure to control narcotics. DPO Abdul Ghafar Qaisarani tasked the police with eradicating drug trafficking in Phoolnagar.
The failure of police to get the desired results led to the transfer of the entire staff of the two police stations. Mr Qaisarani also suspended Sadar SHO Muhammad Azam Dhudhi and Sarai Mughal SHO Sher Muhammad and SI Shaukat Ali of Kot Radha Kishan for their failure to control the menace.
A press release from the district police office, on Wednesday, also said that the drug peddlers would not be tolerated and the officials not controlling narcotics in their jurisdictions would be dealt with iron hand.
DPO Qaisarani has suspended over five dozens cops for corruption and negligence in the last couple of months.
The situation has created a shortage of SHOs, forcing the police high ups in the district to appoint sub-inspectors and ASIs as SHOs.
