An open “Kutchery” (discussion) was held on 25th May 2009 at Malik Cambridge Secondary High School in Kuchlak by Transparency International Pakistan with collaboration with its partner Kuchlak Welfare Society ‘KWS’.
It was attended by over 130 persons including women. This was the first time that a kutchery was held and that women took part in any such forum. Some of the persons addressing this gathering were Malik Abdul Rashid Kakar, Chairman KWS, Naib Nazim of Quetta Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Board Member of KWS Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, a leader of the community Mohammed Ali Jan Kakar and N.A. Mirza of Transparency International Pakistan.
The participants eagerly took part in it and had different views regarding it. They claimed that the Police were the most corrupt who were making the lives of the population miserable. They wanted this department to be tackled first. Others stated NADRA was making them run around in circles. Some stated that the rich were the problem.
At the end of the program when it was put up to the audience regarding their willingness to work actively in eliminating corruption and with a show of hands they showed their willingness.
