The purpose of holding the Kutchery was to make the participants aware of the real meaning of corruption and how vast an area it covered. Usually the word is taken for “Bribery”. It has been noticed that when the comprehensiveness of corruption was conveyed to them, they were surprised. Emphasis was especially made on “Ethical Corruption”, which is encountered by everyone on a daily basis. Another thing that was pointed out was that the elimination of corruption starts with ‘Self”. Therefore everyone should start with themselves first. Unity was another factor which plays a large part in the eradication of corruption.
All the speakers spoke about the menace of corruption and how its eradication can take place. Emphasis was placed on each individual putting his share in ridding society of this problem. Some of the speakers blamed the government for their part in the promotion of corruption. They said if the public representatives stopped indulging in it, the lower level cadre will not indulge in it.
A question answer session took place afterwards in which the participants wholeheartedly took part in it. Afterwards lunch was served during which a lot of informal discussions took place. The definition of corruption was a hot topic with them and most of them said that they had learnt a lot today.
