On 18th February 2010 an Annual Partners Meeting was held at Hotel Al Harmain Tower, Karachi. It was attended by six Civil Society Organizations which had signed Memorandum of Understanding with Transparency International Pakistan during the last year. They are:-
1) Al Mehran Rural Development Organization – New Saeedabad, Sind
2) Fundamental Human Rights and Rural Development Organization – Golarchi, Sind
3) Citizens Commission for Development, Lahore, Punjab
4) Rural Development Organization, Faisalabad, Punjab
5) Kuchlak Welfare Society, Quetta, Balochistan
6) Community Appraisal & Motivation Programme, Peshawar, N.W.F.P.
The other CSOs attending were:-
- Community Research & Development, Peshawar, N.W.F.P.
- Villagers Development Organization, Shahdapur, Sind
- Village Development Organization, Maqsoodto Rind, Sind
The first half of the day consisted on training workshop on ‘Project Proposal Planning Write Up’. It was conducted by Mr. Mohammed Azmat Qazi. It was well received by all the attendees. Some of them said that this workshop should be conducted for a longer period as it would enable them to get more information which they are presently lacking.
Each partner spoke regarding the work being done by them and what they envisaged for the future work with TI-P. This forum provided a platform for networking amongst them.
Syed A. Gilani, Chairman and Mr. Saad Rashid, Executive Director of TI-P addressed the gathering. The guests took active part by sharing their point of views and ideas. It was a lively discussion.. Everybody appreciated this gathering and a consensus was developed on having a network amongst themselves and other like minded organizations, which would take TI-P’s mission to all nook and corner of Pakistan.
