NAB Moves High Court Against Acquittal In Land Allotment Case

Dawn

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday moved the Balochistan High Court (BHC) against the recent acquittal of a former managing director of the Lasbela Industrial State Development Authority (LIEDA), Shujaul Mulk, in the case of illegal allotment of government land.

The prosecution wing of NAB filed an appeal, claiming that the accountability court had drawn premature conclusion without examining its evidence. In the appeal, NAB requested the court to set aside the acquittal of the accused.

NAB had filed a reference against Mr Mulk, former GM Industry Abdul Hameed Sabir and XEN Mohammad Younis in the accountability court contending that the accused in connivance of each other illegally allotted the government land by misusing the authority.

BHC judges Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Abdul Hameed while accepting the NAB’s appeal issued notices to the accused.
