Three Policemen Booked in Illegal Raid on Oil Factory Case

HYDERABAD: The SITE police have booked a police head clerk and two policemen — who were members of a special team of the Additional IG Police Hyderabad Region — for carrying out an illegal raid on an oil factory on June 26.

Those who were booked included head clerk Ismail Mallah and policemen Ibad of the Cantonment police station and Haroon of Mithi police.

SITE police station SHO Farhan Memon became complainant in the FIR (No. 54/19) lodged under Sections 395 and 342 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

“No arrests were so far made,” the SHO confirmed.

He said that around 10 to 12 unidentified policemen in uniform and plain clothes had seized oil from the factory and then returned half of the quantity, but the remaining was still missing.

The case was registered apparently under directives of newly appointed AIG Dr Waliullah Dal, who has replaced AIG Dr Ghulam Sarwari Jamali.

Jamali had constituted a special team which was conducting raids at different palaces. He had conceded that the team had raided under leadership of Ismail Mallah even without his intimation. He had suspended two policemen and Mallah.

The inquiry into the June 26 raid was ordered by Inspector General of Police Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam.
